Long story short, the right lane came to a complete stop and I got rear-ended. I just wanted to show off this gnarley tailgate, haha.

    Pool noodles are for EVERYTHING!
OP probably hangs his bike over the back though.

Hopefully the texter had insurance and ready to make things right.

I slice the longways and put on my fishing rods when I use the ones longer than the bed.

That is very true! The tailgate and bumper absorbed all the damage.

The pool "noodle", singular, got split perfectly when they hit me which I find strange, haha. But, it is for when I load my surfboard so that bumpy roads don't crack my board. If I laid my board on the composite plastic bed itself and I hit a bump I would be afraid it would crack it. I also fold a pool noodle on the nose of my board for the same reason.

Curious about the cost to repair. Tail gates aren’t cheap. Then there are hinges and where they connect to the bed.

It is being repaired today through their insurance (Geico). And they assured me that everything will be fixed the way it was before the accident. Also, the repair warranty lasts for the entire time I own the vehicle. (I don't pay for anything).
