Just got an update on my truck: It was originally scheduled for production on 1/22 - it was actually produced on 1/17, left by rail on 1/18 and the train was in Avon, Indiana yesterday. It is scheduled for rail arrival on 31 Jan with arrival at the dealership between 2/3 and 2/10. We're making progress!

Yes I was Gary. In years past when there was a lot less traffic on the Island and I was still young and foolish, we would go to Happy Hour and 4 or 5 of those rum filled drinks later drive back to our hotel:eek:. No more...too much traffic and wiser now:D.

Speaking of short time, I am leaning heavily towards calling it sometime this year. There are a couple of financial incentives to hang around for another few months, but after that I am thinking I will walk away. I have a lot of stuff I'd like to be doing this year and my vacation days don't cover them all! Not the greatest reason I guess but I need something to push me over the edge. Financially I'm ready, but my job is pretty sweet and the paychecks don't hurt even a little bit. So I need a shove.

Just do it. As long as you’ve worked out the finances, do it. I retired 6 years ago from a high paying high stress job. I don’t regret my retiring for even a second. I’d rather watch paint dry than go back to work. Be sure that in addition to a financial plan you have a plan of what you plan to do. I have numerous things that keep me busy. I love fishing, hunting, boating, reading, gardening, traveling, projects around home and on and on. I stay way busy and love it. If you don’t have hobbies or things of interest you love to do then you may just waste your retirement sitting around watching tv. So make your financial plan and your social plan and go for it. (A friend of mine retired, got bored had no real hobbies or interests, and went back to work at age 68. He found a job as a VP in an engineering firm, earning big bucks. Ain’t no amount of $$ that would interest me in going back to work)

Good morning, everyone!! Just about 5 months left until I retire. I will certainly miss my team and the students just as I miss the Army...but not the stress and pressures that go with leading the college. I'm ready to step back and enjoy the fruits of all the hard work Lynn and I put in over the years and spend more time together. We've got a few trips scheduled for the last half of the year and I'm looking forward to cutting the grass when I want to - not on Saturday or Sunday because that's when I can. Life is good.

Oh, and I'm one day closer to getting the new Tacoma.
