Well I have had my 2001 for around 4 months and I LOVE this truck. I have driven Chevy, Ford and Nissan's and never laid the money down on a Toyota. What was I missing. Love to drive it everywhere. I've been doing a lot of the mod's and maintance myself. When I bought the truck Yesterday me and a buddy was out on some backroads and we went down some really tight trails that he was sure we would get stuck or high centered. Made it out just fine and now he is looking for one. My dad drove a 1984 niss and is still driving it, but will buy a new veh in January. I have convinced him to buy a Toyota. Hope he will buy a good used 2004, but he want a new one. Man this is the best truck even thou its smaller I like it better than the full size ford fx4. Looking a seafoaming with the upcoming oil change. Going to do it a night because of all the smoke. Rick

Well when i turned 16 i bought a 1993 toyota pickup 4x4 with 200k miles on it ( bought it from my uncle in western oklahoma whos an pil field pumper so it was drove on dirt roads since it was bought new in 93) I probably but $500 into this truck mostly due to the fact that I thought since it was 4x4 it could go anywhere then I bought a 1976 toyota Fj-40 and there freakin build proof and when I was 18 I bought a 2001 4door 4x4 taco and it now has 160k miles on it and all ive done is brakes oil and timing belt

All that being said in my opinion no matter what anyone say these trucks are the best money can buy. Not only because they will last forever but mine have been able to go through, up, or over alot mor stuff the anyother of my buddies trucks (chevys, fords, dodges)

So ya that was kinda long but I am proud to have the toyota sitting in the driveway and plan to keep it that was for a long time

Yup I hear that! Bought me a 84 Toyota pickup in 84, thing pulled a boat from 88 to 94, drove across country and back twice, only thing I had to replace was a power steering box and the bed (friggin new england road salt). Sold it in 97.

Went through a bunch of cars and a couple used trucks, then bought my 02 in June of this year. Feels SO good to be back in a Toyota truck!

I agree. For Toyota trucks I have had an '86, '87, '89, '90, '93...lost my mind and went to Chevy and Fords for a while...then now the '04 Tacoma. Good all around truck, good MPG, hauls a family of four comfortably, tows my camper, and light enough to go anywhere when I lock the hubs.
