Yeah I’m so bummed. And these windshields are very expensive because of the TSS.

Oh well. We’ll see what insurance can do. If the crack doesnt spread I’ll leave it be.

Some insurance companies have glass coverage. My policy does. Replacement with no deductible. So nice for these situations.

Congrats on the truck! Access cab is what I want if I didn't have two small kids. Love the high camper shell, I have one and its nice to have a high roof. Yeah looks little grampaish but so functional!

Sucks on the crack though, that's a major bummer! I would fix it since its a new truck even if it is expensive to replace. There is a camera on the windshield that I believe needs to get re calibrated by the dealer. This is the number 1 reason why I will stay aways from the 3rd gens. I'm a huge DIYer like yourself and I hate having to take my car into the dealer for re-calibration BS like this.

You should try to get the Toyota Techstream OBD software so you can do this stuff at home. Think there is ways to get it online.

I’m shopping around for new insurance right now and am going to have my deductible for glass coverage very low. I’ll wait a bit to see if it spreads though.

There is a way to do the calibration at home. I do think a 16-17 would have been a better choice to avoid the TSS, however, I just drove 400 miles with cruise control on and the radar thingy that would slow me down and speed up depending on traffic - Never had such an easy, relaxed drive with some Joe Rogan podcasts :)

I got quoted at statefarm. They want $268 per month. Was the highest quote I got.

Travelers and Mercury were the lowest with good coverage and low deductibles...$176 and $127. A 2019 truck and a 22 year old do not mix well.

Jeez. My truck and homeowners insurance combined is less than that. Even when I was 22, mine was like maybe $120.

When I was 23 I did in fact live in Cali. :D Corner of 223rd and Vermont in Torrance. Right across the street from "The Girl" skateboard company.

Damn, that’s rad! Love that company. Chocolate, Crail tap, 4 star. So many solid companies and some of the best skaters.

Since you live in California you should get Wawanesa Insurance. They only accept good drivers and have the best rates. At first their rate might be very similar to others but at every renewal it will quickly start dropping since new discounts will apply to you. Also there is no middle man with them trying to make additional money on you.

Tbh I’m really digging the access cab with that high top shell. Making me have the itch for something stock and newer :D

When your side panel breaks off or your rear tube starts rusting, it’ll make more sense haha.
