Tell him to keep on eye on his coolent fluid.

The 2005-2010 pathfinders, frontiers and xterras were known to have intermixing of trans fluid and anti freeze and permanently fucking your transmission.

My 2007 pathfinder somehow dodged this

Auto journalists keep say this too. I disagree. I think the type of buyer looking at the Frontier doesn't need or even want it to be cutting edge... they need it to be affordable, reliable, and able to do truck things. It's not a truck for trendy scenesters.

It's fine as-is IMO, just like the 370z which journalists keep complaining about too. The fuel economy is probably the truck's weakest attribute, but when looking at the entire package, it's doable. The interior design while boring is reasonably up-to-date, and IMO, not as bad as the Ford Ranger, which I find to be completely design-by-comittee looking.

More importantly, be careful what you ask for. Supposedly the new Frontier will look (or be) like the Navara... an ugly international looking truck platform, likely with a 4-banger turbo.

Exactly what I think. My 2013 was a great truck. Dated,yes..but I came to understand why people still buy them. Reliable, not a lot of bells and whistles (less to break and cheaper to replace) and it gets the job done. I have not one regret buying my old Frontier, but I will say I was okay with seeing it go lol my Taco is everything I want and more

I had 08 Frontier with about 113k miles when it became ill with the pink milkshake. Dealer wanted $7k to replace trans, radiator and thermostat.

After 800 miles on my Frontier, I can say I like it more than my 2017 TRD Sport Tacoma. More power, heated seats, and better towing. Also, normal oil filter. Really enjoyed my Tacoma, but for $5K less, this Nissan really takes the #1 spot. Some have said manual shifter is sloppy, but not so.

Congratulations on your new ride! What color? Pro 4x?

I think all of the trucks in the mid size market are good vehicles

I took it to an independent in The Valley. Got it all fixed for $2400 if I remember correctly. Soon after the engine blew a head gasket and destroyed the cats. Got a Tacoma a couple months later and the Frontier sat for almost 2 years in my driveway. Sent it to my uncle in Central America and he rebuilt the engine over there and is running good as new again.

One of the best trucks I owned! 86’ hardbody.

I agree. Also have normal ignition key. Really hated that key fob on my Ram. No Pro 4x's available but needed the towing package which for some reason are more available on the SV'sIMG_20200126_093916.jpg
