This is the damage from today's little mishap; Plastic ripped off and metal part noticeably bent (the fence got it worse and will be paid for out of pocket)...

2 weeks into having my Tacoma I backed into a parked car in my work parking lot..

Insurance is now way higher and my confidence when backing up is tarnished.. I had a backup camera but I was looking at the car to my right and clearing it with my turn.. when I looked at the camera bam the car was at my tailgate. Smh

Driving the small sand dunes west of SLC. Forgot the leeward side makes a steep grade. Truck went up it like a quarter pipe, followed up with a huck to flat.

I Just got my tacoma about a month ago. i’m from the tuner community i’ve owned a RX7, Mazdaspeed3, and a Subaru STI. 4x4 is completely new to me. so i buy my Tacoma and it wasn’t till 2 weeks of owning i realized i hadn’t used the 4x4 yet.
so in my head i’m thinking “oh my god! what if something’s wrong with it i never used it on the test drive! i’m so screwed!!”
i put it in 4x4 just to see and do a little city driving. (on dry asphalt. i’m such an idiot!) so i am going straight no big deal i pull into a parking lot and get rub and friction.
i’m pissed cause i think something is wrong with it. so i take it to the shop to have them check for rub or any issues with the system and they come back to me saying it’s in perfect condition everything looks amazing.

i’m very confused so i decide to take them on a test drive to show them ‍♂️ i’ve never felt so dumb in my life. i’m so lucky i didn’t break anything. the guy goes. “buddy you can’t be on a dry pavement and engage” omg

long story short I'm ignorant and should have done the simplest research.

I came to my Tacoma from a Hyundai Accent.. (yikes) but when I got my truck my buddy who was on TW instantly told me do not engage 4x4 on dry pavement, and maybe not even wet pavement unless you’re legit losing traction.

I since have tried to do as much research as possible on my 4x4 system.. including what situations to use 4Hi and 4Lo in. Takes time and learning, I don’t blame you.

3)broke a bolt reinstalling plug coil. using a breaker bar with extension. Don’t ask me why....

The dumbest thing I've ever done with a taco... brother there's a lot of tacos in my past and to be honest most of those decisions were done drunk so...

As for a dumb decision on a Tacoma that one's easy - bought one at night in the dark. That was the most expensive taco ever.

So far taking it to the dealer for an oil change was the dumbest thing. I have been lucky.

I'm currently arguing with my dad over spending almost $1,600 on a Mobtown rear plate bumper...

Yeah I wouldn't go crazy spending that much for a rear bumper.

You could always paint one a different color or have some local Fab Shop make you something basic.

On my way to the doctors today I saw some idiot almost cause a crash by a stopped school bus. In Ohio on a 4 lane road traffic only needs to stop on the side that the school bus is on, this Asshat on the other side locked them up and almost got rear ended.
