I'm kind of wondering where the aggressive, somewhat hostile tone is coming from..

Just passing on my experience. I take it you don't agree.

Last time i'll answer an @ bat-signal to reply from anyone, i guess.

Incorrect. It's an open-differential like ours. No 'standard' mechanical LSD - it's an e-LSD (as so equipped) using the anti-lock braking system, same as ours. You'll see by this thread they are talking Tru-trac LSD. Same route i went.

All new under the floor, factory frame swap. Bucket seat swap. Bilstein 4600 shocks and X Runner rear swaybar. 4:10 DIfferential. 225/60/17 on Sienna 5 spoke alloy wheels. After market black headlights. OE replica fog lights. OE Intermittent wipers plug and play. Leather steering wheel (OE eBay) that came with a cruise stalk, I bought the $38 OE wire to plug into the clock spring, plug and play.
Not the case, sorry for the vibe. That said, I need more than 1 guy's video that doesn't show the actual issue to believe the carrier in a 3.31 is a piece all to itself, I can't see Toyota doing it. Still no hard evidence on "why" a 3.31 carrier would have to be different. Thanks for the input.

The thing is I don't like to believe things that aren't true, it doesn't make sense. Information is useless without context or with context that's incorrect. And I'm not mad.

The thread does talk e LSD but nobody says that's what an X Runner has because they'd be wrong if they said that because it has an old school Muscle Car type clutch pack LSD.
For burnouts not rock crawling like the e-LSD in a 4X4. e-LSD is low speed focused.

The thread specifically does say "05 to 08 had the mechanical LSD and I hate the new one" I'm going to say all year X Runners have a mechanical LSD. They sold them through 2015 in Hawaii.
Other forums talk about rear gear oil changes and adding friction modifier.
A road test in Car&Driver says it has an LSD, if it were an e-LSD they would call that out and say it sucks. Other publications say the same.

I'm prepared to be wrong (though I don't think I am) if that is in fact the case, but all evidence says it's a type clutch pack LSD in the X Runner.

I will concede to most of your points on the X-Runner, specifically 2005-2008. I was not aware of this. Further digging, seems to indicate they go to Tru-trac because of what's onboard those OEM in clutch-pack form, seems to have been fragile.. by this thread.

Obviously, i have faulty. outdated knowledge and/or misconceptions, as you have demonstrated.. and as you said, i did react to perceived Tone. I came in on an @ .. which is an opinion invite. Last thing i was expecting was tone in response. I simply am not all that active on the forum any more, so it was a bit of a 'Hello'. It is what it is.

As said, i last really explored this 5 years ago.. and apparently not deeply enough, or degree to which you've looked into it.

    Check this out.

I STILL won't concede to the 3.31 Hard Ceiling, however. EVERY person i've spoke with, everything i've read, has said the 3.31 is an evolutionary dead-end. It has to do with that Carrier, and spline pitch/count.. that much i am sure of, at this point.
