    Greetings TW,

I recently purchased my fourth Tacoma, a 2020, Silver Sky Metallic, Access Cab, V6, SR5, Auto, 4x2. This Tacoma is destined for the urban sprawl that is Houston, TX.

I have read many "first mods" posts and have watched the videos on youtube.

What mods do you recommend for a 4x2 Urban Tacoma that is not bound for the dirt or mud? A garage queen Tacoma!

I'll start with my first 5:
    1. Ceramic Tint, 30% Front and 70% on the Rear Privacy Glass
    2. OEM Toyota Bed Mat
    3. OEM Toyota Door Sill Protectors
    4. MESO Customs "Gasshole" Gas Cap holder
    5. Glove Box Organizer and Center Console Tray
I recommend all five of these, but my rig still looks completely OEM. I can't decide if that's good or bad.

Thank you in advance for your recommendations!

One thing I think looks really sexy on long beds is a good set of sliders with kick out. But that’s $$$ for looks and little functionality for urban warfare. Or perhaps major overkill.

If you don't mind losing 1-2 mpg then removing the front wind dam is super easy and the truck looks even better after

Tailgate, glovebox letter inserts, just give it a little personal appearance look. I went with red for both on my silver one

The store offered 4 types of tint: 1 ply plastic dyed film (cheapest), 2 ply dyed metallized hybrid film, 2 ply carbon film (second best), and 2 ply infrared ceramic film (best).

I went with the fancy film. It was $350 plus tax for the access cab. It would have been $400 plus tax for a double cab.

Some benefits of this film in particular: no electronic interference, 6X better scratch resistance, guarenteed no fading or purple, shatter resistant, 62% solar energy rejection, 85% infrared heat rejection, 99% UV rejection.

Plus the shop said as long as I am the owner of the truck, I can come in for any issue correction at no cost.

This is high on my list. I would like to swap out the Toyo Open Country A31s for Michelin Defender LTX M/S.

My better half seems to think I ought to use the stock tires for 20-25k and then get the tires I want...

Well we use our Honda Civic for work commuting, so I put something like 3k miles on my truck a year! That would take forever!

Houston is often rainy at the drop of a hat, so I prefer the confidence I have in Michelin to these Toyos "Marginal" performance in wet conditions.

The Michelins would be $850 installed. My position is I can sell the stockies for something, maybe $260-300, which would still be $550-590 out of pocket.

IMHO, it's the ONLY awesome looking grill for any model.

I have a set of Defender LTX M/S tires on my 2017 SR5. I went with 265-70-R16. They are the same size as the stock 245-75-R16s but are about an inch wider. They didn't affect my MPGs (or speedo) but looked much better than the stock 245s. Also discount tire seems to have a recurring $70 rebate on the Michelins. You just have to keep checking back.
I got $100 at a used tire shop for my stock Destination LEs with 7K miles on them. With the 70 rebate and the 100 resale, the new tires came out at just under $700.

I am currently okay with these new darker SR5 wheels, but eventually I will want to.

I am a fan of the SCS Ray 10s I keep seeing on the forum, but are there certain wheels that are perceived as "off road" style/function wheels as opposed to "street" wheels?

I had a 2013 that I put the SEMA wheels on, so I've had those before.

Our stock wheels seem fairly unique in stats, I can never find many aftermarket wheel manufacturers with the same offset, or bolt pattern or other stat.
