An act of desperation...but here I go. I know this topic gets beat regularly.

I've got a 2014 regular cab with the 4 cyl. engine. LCE header...happy with that. But rust got everything downstream from it, so I'm looking for bolt on system. Ha! Several systems for extended cabs and double cabs out there, but zilch for regular cabs. And where I live, trying to find a shop to fab something up is impossible.

I ditched the OEM stuff and installed a Flowmaster 50 long ago...was not really happy with it, droned like crazy and was a bit too loud, so I want to stay away from that.

The truck is kind of a toy, so a little noise is ok, and I'm starting to think spending money on stainless is a waste, the salt use here will get it anyway. And, some reading online has me wondering if a straight through muffler might be better than something chambered...I know that Magnaflow is popular for these trucks.

So I humbly ask, any thoughts?

Some of the aftermarket exhausts for the extended cab and double cab can be cut down to fit the regular cab. You have to look at the pictures of them to see how the intermediate pipe goes into the muffler. A non stainless exhaust will have a much shorter life so if you do go with non stainless, you might want to paint it with high temp exhaust paint before putting it on.

The Dynomax 39447 can be used if you cut down the intermediate pipe since it's a straight pipe.

Well the price is right. I see that this system is for a 4 liter engine though. I guess that doesn't matter much. Do you have this on your truck?

No, I still have the stock exhaust on my truck. For some reason I thought it was showing the system for the 4 cyl but it shows it's for the 4.0 V6. But according to someone else here, they were able to bolt this up to the 2.7 by elongating the holes in the flange. It might be too loud with that muffler though. They list all the part numbers so you could piece it together and grab a different muffler if you wanted to.

That's a small muffler; it's going to be really loud!

I got an exhaust for my 4cyl awhile back (blackwidow) and honestly hated it. It was embarassingly loud, so i went back to stock. I did notice a tiiiiny bit better performance though if thats what youre looking for.

I have the MagnaFlow cat back on my 4 banger. I love it. Sounds throaty and no drone. You mentioned you have the LCE header. Where did you purchase from and did you install yourself? If not, how much did it cost for the install?

I bought the header from LCE some time ago. It was on sale so I swooped. A friend helped me install it...took about an hour, straight bolt on. Did have to heat up a couple of bolts to get the oem header off.
