mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
Upper, yes MD side, has some good fish in it.

All the small tribs feeding the lake get some trout from the lake breeding in them. We backpack shocked most of them doing biomass surveys, and was surprised what we found.

Hooked into a couple decent fish today. One took off and jumped up into a low hanging bush and pulled the hook. Was able to get the second one in. Nothing giant, but the tape said 17.5”

Unfortunately, this is the first time in at least a month I've been able to fish in town. The river's been frozen pretty solid until a few days of slightly warmer weather recently. There is some tailwater fishing to be had though.

    Skiing's good though. :D

Man, this almost temps me to give winter fly fishing a go again, then I remember that snow ledge on the Blue that broke off dumping me in the water and a ton of snow on my head and say screw that. :D

I know a couple of you guys fish in MD in the Savage River drainage....

    I had a couple questions.

I’ve fished the tailwater and a buncha tribs above the lake with success - browns below the dam and brookies above.

Ive never fished the main stem above the reservoir though, just the tribs.

And I know they stock the lake with browns.

Does the main stem hold any wild browns or is it all stockers?

Caught my first trout out there, but that was a very long time ago. I can tell you in the Fall the Browns will run "upstream" to reproduce, just don't fish to any sitting on their Redds.

Alright folks, looking for some travel advice. I am based out of Knoxville, TN and want to do a long weekend trip to get away and fish some new waters. I am willing to drive up to 10 hours which puts me somewhere in northern Michigan directly to my north and northern Pennsylvania to my north east. I have always been interested in the Au Sable and Manistee so Michigan is sounding pretty good, but I know there is tons of killer water between here and Pennsylvania as well. I should mention I am looking for float-able rivers, as I have a raft rigged up with a fishing frame. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’d say come on up to wv but the pickings are pretty slim as far as rivers that are big enough to float fish and also cold enough to hold trout.

    smallmouth is another story :)

there are some floatable trout streams in Georgia right?

how far are you from the white river in AR? That’s a trip ima do one day

Honestly if it were me I’d already be on my way to MI where the trout are wild and the (legal) grass is green lol

Knoxville, TN to Cotter, AR = 9 hr 11 min! Have you seen the browns that come out of the white River?!?!

Michigan is pretty fun too though!
