    Hi all. I have an '06 Taco that has been an amazing work truck for my personal business for 14 years, and I decided to buy a '20 for my new personal vehicle. I started browsing the forums here and love it so far. The amazing suggestions and helpfulness shown by so many member is clearly apparent right away. I have found the model I am going to buy, and am just waiting for the dealership to get it in.

    Is there a thread that talks about warranties, paint protection plans, rust plans etc that I should be asking for/negotiating when I make my purchase?

    The only warranty you'd want is a Toyota extended warranty, and those can be bought from any Toyota dealer, they don't have to come from where you buy the truck. Keep in mind it's insurance. And insurance is sold to make money. For the seller.

    Paint protection is the same deal. IMHO pretty much a rip off.

    I'd never use a dealer for rust protection. Piles of reports around here regarding the lousy product dealers use, even after inspections for frame deterioration. Lots of reading available for 2-3 good independent products.

    Warning. Regardless of what you work out with the salesman, the finance guy is going to try to strong arm you into more stuff (like warranty) with fear tactics.
