Some pro comps or simple steelies will run way under you budget. The only downside is weight! 16x8 steelies typically are 30lbs a wheel. It really depends on what sizing you are looking for. Used may be your best option.

Yes, I am a boomer - and damn proud of it. But how many 64 year old boomers do you know that drive a Tacoma like this?

My daily driver has chrome though:

I leave the "other color" wheels to my 27 year old son:

90 percent of the people I see driving Tacomas are old lol. The other 10 percent is young guys that buy into the overlander fad and drop 50k on rotopax and bed accessory's to go to the mall.

Also op ide look at pro comp or mickey Thompson they have fairly nice flat black wheels and are pretty cheap.

Black wheels are not a fad, they’ve been a staple in wheel options since the 70s. You’re correct in that not everyone likes them, but then again, not everyone likes white or black plain t-shirts... black wheels are not going anywhere, they’re subtly classy and aesthetically appreciated by many.

I hate to say this because I love camping and exploring although like backpacking a little more.

but overlanding seems like the new Rice. That and The Mall crawler/diesel bro scene.

Op. If you haven’t noticed. Everything on here has to look like a dedicated off road rig or else you get trolled.
