Raptor Lights

I want to install the three amber raptor lights on my gen 2 OEM grill just as it is without having to replace it. Any one else done this without replacing the grill? If so, what led lights have you used?

 

I tried a while ago with some round amber lights. I had to drill into the grill to secure them properly. One of the lights stopped working and the black surround on the lights faded and turned a gross copper color. I now have a faux pro grill with raptor lights and am much more pleased and the truck looks much better in my opinion.
