Haha, I get 14.8 mpg. 3 in lift, running 265s at 34 psi. I gave up REAL QUICK on mpg. But I am often caught looking out the window at my truck in admiration.

Sounds like you are relying on the trip computer to give an "instant" mpg on the short trips. Your mileage will always be worse the first few miles after starting the engine particularly when it's cold. It's best to see what you are averaging between fill-ups. Use Fuelly.com to track it. It will make you feel a little better, but like everyone says - it's a truck, it's heavy and it's shaped like a brick.

Good luck! - and Welcome to TW!

2019 trd sport, 3.5 manual transmission with 2600 miles. Drive fast off the line and do mostly short trips to work and back, roughly 10-12 miles round trips...75-80 on highway and take those rpms up 4.5-5k between shifts. Get roughly 14mpg. The Tacoma is my winter vehicle in CT, my main ride is my motorcycle. I’m sure I can get much better gas mileage if I ease of the pedal, but I average about 4-5k miles a year in the truck; my bike is my everyday drive anyways. On highway only rides, I average 18-20 easily.
