Hey guys, new to the site so I apologize if there’s a thread like this already. I’ve been looking everywhere to see what this ticking noise could be since I don’t think it’s the typical Taco Tick. The truck runs great otherwise.

Any help or insight would be awesome, thank you

edit: the truck has 98500 miles on it

Doesn’t sound too far off. Mine sounds like that when it is still warming up and the idle is a little higher. It might be my imagination, but I think I hear that valve train noise more when I am closer to needing an oil change. The higher pitched tapping when you are on the driver side sounds like the pcw (not sure if that’s the name) valve attached to the valve cover. Other than that, not sure I hear anything out of the ordinary- just chugging like it does when it’s cold out and still warming up.

Thanks for the reply, the truck runs great otherwise. It sounds like this pretty much all the time, whether it's a cold start or has been running for awhile. I'll have to look into that valve cover tapping to see if I can at least quiet something down. Cheers
