It surges etc. like if you were to “lug” a manual trans (but it’s an auto) if you were in too high of a gear with too much throttle. That surge?

The misfire codes tell me the cps crapped being you said you stalled. CPS sends the pulses to the computer to tell when to fire the plugs.
I would get the dealer to replace the cps. I wouldn't trust it.

Engine shut down at speed, restarting later with no issue and Trans over temp warning are all commonly reported symptoms of a bad CPS.

Keep in mind most auto techs are flaming assholes, often with delusions of grandeur. Anything you mention as a possible cause will automatically send them in search of ANYTHING else to be the issue. Just buy the fucking CPS and install it yourself.

Same. I’m gonna try a tank of premium next time I fill up and see if it changes anything. If not I think I’m moving on.

Tough one there. My 14 Ram did this twice to me over the 4ish years I owned it. Both times had no consistency in speed, how long the engine was running, etc. nor did they throw any codes that I am aware of.

I simply chalked my experience up to “computers”. All vehicles are computer controlled today and once in a while, when something was expecting a 0, it received a 1 and went Duh!

I think it sorta surged or bucked or something, after it had died but was still in drive. I was distracted with trying to coast the thing into a spot off the freeway, that was safe.

I plan to take it to the dealer I bought it from Monday. Hopefully they will help me out with it. I really don’t feel safe driving it, especially with my two little ones in the back.

Maybe Avondale Toyota is the problem. Great people to deal with when buying a car not so much when you need service. I am very happy with the Service Dept of Tempe Toyota and Bell Toyota. They have been 1st Class with the G/F Scion back in the days and the daughters Prius.

My 2019 did same thing. Always at low rpm and would lug and only stop when I pressed the throttle further to force a downshift. 1100-1250 rpm was the prime area this happened. Drove truck 10k+ miles and never got better. Finally spent 700 on OVtune and haven’t felt this since.

Not trying to sell you on anything as I didn’t want to spend that much for a tune I wasn’t well educated on. Got so sick of the stutter at low rpm like that and the constant shifting gears up and down like mad while never changing throttle position or approaching an incline. Truck would shift up and down then back up and back down over and over sometimes. After installing the tune neither problem has reoccurred.
