    picked up the jeep last weekend and we're starting to sort through everything, needs a fair bit of work

    upgrades/needs

    new v6
    new axels
    new steering assembly
    new brake assembly
    fuel injection (maybe next yr or later)
    sliders
    tires
    lift leaf packs
    shocks
    i'm sure a lot more :)

    you, sir, know your jeeps! we're switching over to an even fire 331 i believe, if i'm not mistaken it's a 4banger right now. and you're right, it's a 1961 cj5 :D

    nonstopable is right, we took it for a drive and it scared the shit out of me. like a third of the stopping power of the tacoma haha and don't get me started on the steering. but thing is a TANK!

    Screw that...put a V8 in it!!!

    Also, check the frame where the rear shackles attache - frames are notorious for rotting completely back there. Or perhaps previous owner already had it repaired/fixed.

    Good Luck!! Lots of parts out there for it....the market for aftermarket, used parts, & OEM, is HUGE!
