Hey guys, I’m new to the forums and forums formatting. I tried searching this problem before but couldn’t find the answers so if anyone has a link to a useful thread I welcome them!

The problem is my truck has a rather large lift for my personal taste and I’m wanting to un lift it. I think it’s about a 2.5” lift. I asked the guy I purchased the truck from what kind of lift it had but he did not know.

I’ve read a few things about people having to weld certain things to lift their trucks or they put blocks under the axles. So I looked under the truck but could not find any welds that didn’t look original and I didn’t see any blocks. Can the lift just be from certain shocks/leaf springs? How do I un lift this sucker?

    Thank you,
    Tyler.

If you could share pics of the top of the front shocks, and the bottom of the leaf spring we can help you further.

You can replace the front simply with "quick struts" and it will put the truck back to stock for minimal effort. The rear depends on the leaf spring lift.

Yes, a good lift will not use any blocks or spacers and will instead use taller springs. It would be helpful for you to post pictures of your suspension for us to see.

As bishop84 says, to really be of true help to you we'll need to see pics of what you actually have.

I'm no lift pro, but I'm not seeing blocks under the leaf pack. And I'm not seeing a spacer on top of the front coil over. Could it be a body lift? How a bout a pic overall of the truck from the side or front?

here’s a front and side. If it’s a body lift I’m assuming it’s much more involved to un lift. I’m no lift expert either. I might start sweating if you say something scary.

Yeah, see the gap between the frame and bed on the side pic? That bed rail normally rests on the frame there. And if you follow along the frame you'll see some hockey puck looking things, or in my case 3" tall looking hockey pucks:rofl:(dont judge me, was on it when I bought it:D) and that would be how much of a body lift you have. Removing it would be loosening all body mounts and lifting one side of body up and removing lift pucks and then same on other side. I'm sure there are write ups and crap for installing body lift. Just that backwards :D my body lift doesn't annoy me enough to remove it yet. Lol

Cruiserguy, thank you. You rock. I’m not sweating after all. Sounds pretty straight forward. I’ve got some work to do.

    Mystery, SOLVED.

are you sure? I don't see any gaps. you WILL see light through a side view of the bed. it sits on rails going across and not flat on the frame. also, the rear and front bumper are where they should be and not gapped as would indicate a body lift.

that side pic is a little fisheyed and wonky

@Tyler6869 take some pics of the body mounts and underneath

fwiw those are stock leafs and front coil-overs, the blue shocks are standard Tokico brand that came on the DC (something tells me the PO put on all new springs and shocks before selling, they do look clean)

Definitely a body lift. Maybe not much of one. But you can see the frame from the side which is not the usual.

I can see light thru my bed/frame, and I don't have a body lift. The side skirt things are just missing, lol...

But the gap between the UCA and the front fender is definitely a body lift. Easy enough to remove, just take some fiddling with the body.

I'd take a good look at the body mounts and consider replacing them all with new ones, of stock height. There's a guy around that sells a bunch of different body lifts, and even sells a 0" one (stock size, lol), that would be your best bet rather than buying OEM ones. I wish I could remember the name. :anonymous:Just don't get the polyurethane ones, that'll make your ride harsher.
