I have a 2009 base Tacoma red with a lift. I removed the sway bar the passenger end link but on the driver side the end link bolt doesn’t go all the way thru the control arm. The question is are there any tricks to getting that end link out?

Worth mentioning, the OP has a 6" drop bracket lift.

The sway bar link should attach to the spindle and then the sway bar itself. The end of the stud has a hole for Allen wrench to hold stud while turning the nut. Not sure if that’s what you asking about or not?

Yes the end not attached to the sway bar doesn’t have a nut on either side almost like it was pressed in?

Original Poster. (You) Drop bracket lifts have different knuckles. Someone familiar with drop bracket lifts may have a better idea of what's going on.

There’s nothing to grab on either side

I'm not familiar with drop bracket lifts, but can you poke an allen wrench in the hole?

If you unbolt that bracket for the brake lines can you stick something through that hole?

There's room to grab the stud with vicegrips right next to the ball. Before I knew there was an allen hole in the end, I grabbed there with vicegrips to hold the stud from turning while I took off the nut.

I would try a pickle fork, or a angled pry bar to pull it out. Are you trying to retain the component for reuse or are you not worrying about having a serviceable sway bar?
