I ended up ordering the nfab podiums since its stainless and coated black... it has a slightly lower step- good for my wife- and it looks like its wide enough to keep some doors away... but because it's a hoop style I guess at the correct angles I'd still get hit.

My car literally just got dinged by an really old dude so I just let it go. I was on the fence about the tigers but heard some terrible QC issues.

Oem cast aluminum protrudes out from the rockers so I’m not sure about that only sliders protect door dings statement. I’m sure they’ll protect just the same and both won’t protect against rear doors or certain suvs (height) regardless

Tyger running boards are pretty inexpensive. (Didn't want to use the word Cheap). No QC issues here.

Just park way out in parking lots, that's what I do, I need the exercise, lol. I put running boards on my
last truck, my leg rubbed against them getting out of the truck, I didn't really need to step on them to get out, they were annoying, I never want running boards again.
and.....if your only option is to park by cars, park by "nice" condition new cars, more than likely they won't ding you!

There is no guaranteed solution. Sliders will help more than running boards, but all it takes is a higher vehicle and that door will go right over. You can certainly lessen the chances but 1) a lift and 2) certain sliders, but give it time and it'll still happen.

Totally agree! Unfortunately for me they didn't come on my truck and I had to pay almost $700 for them... im going to loose a good chunk of change selling them.

    Nothing special
Another vote on the OEM cast aluminum steps. Solid helps dogs and wife get in truck. I've seen people open their doors into my steps. Saves the door but like others have stated, doors that are high may hit still, but reduces chances.

The OEM Al step boards (mount to rockers) are probably the best bet overall if you don't want real sliders (mount to frame). But they are expensive, you can get real rock sliders for the cost of the OEM step boards. I plan on adding sliders at some point but got a cheap set of step boards for door ding protection and to help 13FF496B-C36F-4C06-A4FE-FD2894A28815.jpg entry/exiting of vehicle. These were cheap ($170 shipped) and the fitment was perfect, install took 25 minutes and I was really taking my time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W5LQP1Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They should provide some protection.

Sliders protecting against door dings LOL. Is this what some of you tell your wives?

Sliders won't do shit when it seems like everyone is driving a truck that's taller than your typical Tacoma and it's filled with brats.
