My dad bought a 88 yota brand new, I was 10 yrs old, that's when my love for Toyota's began. It was black with the same color stripe.

I learned to drive stick on my buddy's 87 2wd extracab lwb, have loved them ever since!

It was ugly as sin but funny how much I enjoyed driving it for a guy with no driving experience to compare it to!

    Thanks Tom!
Some days I want to restore close to factory as possible, others I want to stretch into a rock crawler on natural gas, who knows but I just couldn't look at it as 2 different colors anymore..

Leave it original. For what it would cost to turn it into a rock crawler, you could pick one up already built. This is my 83, it was semi built when I got it, changed pretty much everything. It now has a 2rz, automatic, dual cases, etc.
