Did you get a vehicle specific mount kit? If you get the standalone light I don't think they come with the SAE label. The face can be used for all patterns of the pod, you could do that for the vehicle pods too, but they only ship the vehicle kits in SAE patterns.

@Diode Dynamics do you have plans on making a yellow lens color that matches the pod lense color on your light bars?

That is the question they just previously answered. It would be pretty sweet.

I have been running BD fogs for about three months and have been flashed a handful of times. But the tipping point was when I was driving on a back road in Washington state and the reflectors on the power lines for planes started looking like lights, and i knew it was from the fogs!

Here is a comparison of BD vs DD...

I'm sorry I can't say exactly how that may have happened, but to your suggestion, the marking is now being done on the lens itself.

I don't want to take this thread too off topic, but you might review our actual dimensions vs other ligjtbars. A 20 inch bar is often not truly 20 inches in physical dimension.

That said, we do offer a 30 inch size, and we try to keep them as close as we can to fit existing mounting solutions. Just didn't quite work out for the 18 inch vs 20 inch bar. Thanks!

I updated the SS3 post with the data tables from the Rigid and Baja tests for easier comparison. Lots of data to compare in text form. I’ll need to make an updated output intensity and color temp charts as I did in the original post for easier product data comparisons.

    Any help is much appreciative

Yep. Or was supposed to: 4runner kit. My receipt is marked "DD6191 Worklight SS3 Pro Type B Kit Yellow SAE Fog"
I am wondering if I got sent the incorrect kit if it does not have SAE on the bezel/housing - maybe it was meant for the OTHER lights that are non-SAE?

It's important to note that the stage series bars use the same 6000K white emitters across the board, regardless of the lens. So while the amber lens may be a 2000K color, I bet that it's closer to selective yellow once the cool white light shines through it. Look at Crash's post here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/posts/22214095

It's exciting to hear that the stage series bars may get a revamp in the future. I wonder if this update would also include 1-piece optics! In my opinion, they are already class-leading in terms of value (performance per dollar). They punch way above their weight.

Unfortunately that was right when my gear went off line so I wasn’t able to get a color temp reading. Hence why I have a mysterious lighting post without measured data. Here is an install we did on @White lightning boosted truck which shows the Diode Dynamics bar with the Rigid SAE D-Series selective yellow fog pods. It is a little challenging to tell in the photos, but the bar is lower in color than the fog pods.

Ah I see it. A little more orange but not quite signal amber.

the rigids have a more green/yellow color compared to the bar. both together are great!

    wanna be mods
The side attachment bolts are where you loosen to aim the light as far down within the mounting body...if that makes sense.

It is easier to do out of the vehicle, but is totally doable with the frame mounted to the oem opening.

Has anyone else noticed that the ss3 pros curve upward towards the outside of the beam pattern?

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the tacoma specific mounts or if the pattern was designed that way. @crashnburn80's pictures don't seem to show any upward cure

well, i have mine in an aftermarket bumper and didn't measure that they are level. so, take my input with at least 2-3 grains of salt...

that said, anecdotally, mine seem to extend upwards on the outer edges as well.

Look in the photo where I mention you can see the TIR optic in the pattern. The light spill above the cut off is not consistent. You can also see this in the Baja comparison shot. There is more spill at the center and outer edgers of the pattern, and less directly forward of the optic, essentially around the edge of the TIR optic has more spill.

I must have overlooked that in your extremely thorough :)bowdown:) evaluation of the SS3s. I see exactly what you mean in how they are more focused in some areas compared to others
