Is anyone running a big brake upgrade on your 2018-2020 Taco with TSS (Toyota Safety Sense)?

What do bigger brakes have to do with TSS?

Not sure if TSS automatically applying the brakes to avoid a frontal collision means the calipers are different somehow vs non TSS...

If y'all are saying no, then I'll assume the electric brake booster handles the job of applying hydraulic pressure in the event of a TSS crash avoidance scenario.

Brakes are brakes. They receive hydraulic pressure, that's about it. The system will apply pressure until the desired effect is achieved.

The differences will be upstream of the caliper. The calipers will work the same way regardless.

That's great. I know how brakes work. Lol.

I don't know how TSS + brakes work. Hence this thread. Don't wanna assume anything. Ya know?

Haha I gotcha man. Going along with that, I don't assume everyone on TW knows how brakes work

Calipers are calipers, brakes are brakes, but damn the upstream system on these trucks scare the crap out of me. It's way more complex than a simple proportioning valve.

OP you are right to check. Just because calipers work the same doesn't mean they run at the same pressures. A few mLs could be the difference between locking up or not being able to stop at all.
