White stains roof rails???

    DEF633D9-004D-4C23-963B-D8ECCCCE5155.jpg Ran truck through a auto car wash & the plastic ha these white stain marks. I’ve try thinner & some other cleaners with nothing even touching it. Thought about try to just paint over it too

    I know but seriously can’t find anything that will take them off. It only happen on one side of the truck too. Car wash said something about maybe it was the presoak?

    I remembered reading about 3rd gen Fender flares being stain and people removing it. I'll try to find it for you.

    With plastic, you're likely stuck with staining it to get it back to a uniform color. Solution Finish seems to be the go to for longevity.

    While coatings aren't for everybody if you're keeping the vehicle long term and it's got a lot of this plastic on it, coat it. There are trim specific coatings out there (Carpro Dlux) but the general coatings like Cquartz UK or even the lite coatings like Cquartz lite or Can coat.

    Also best to avoid the tunnel washes especially if there are brushes. The touchless ones can be dicey for this kind of scenario. If you must use one to knock off brine or pollen than pick the most basic wash cycle they have.

    If it was indeed from the car wash, it’s more than likely a ‘water based’ stain, and typically most ‘solvent based’ cleaners won’t touch them. Would need to try a water based cleaner or degreaser like CLR etc.
