2019 TRD Pro in Super White
Hello all. I was curious as how much it would cost to clone a 2017-2019 TRD Pro including the Fox suspension so I started doing some research. This comprehensive list does NOT include the exclusive heated leather seats with red stitching, sunroof, TRD shift knob, all of the skewp parts & painting costs for the hood, etc. It assumes the buyer is purchasing genuine Toyota OEM parts.

The list is not all inclusive but lists the majority of the parts needed to clone an OR model into a Pro. The parts list alone adds up to over $11,300 and that’s including zero labor to complete the work.

NOTE: My parts has been updated since the original post:

All that and your truck still doesn't come with TRD intake. :p

And the tail lights are different. Gotta add those. Seats too.

You'll have to get the hood painted too.

But all that and you'll still always know deep down you're a faux bro not a true pro bro

quid pro faux quo bro, bro.

I think there's a few people on here that are getting all the pro stuff for their offroad/sport. I'm sure they have a build list with how much it's costing. Still don't think it's worth it.

Why do people try to clone cars? In high school we had kids that would do this... Roadrunner stickers on a Satellite, removing the RS badges off a Camaro and claiming it was a Z28... all these kids were mercilessly ridiculed.

    I can't afford a Pro, but that's okay.

Well people on here buy clone aka another word for fake ass shit all the time wheels and Rigid Lights. I'm sure if someone made a fake as shit BFG KO or Wildpeak that would save someone six bucks a tire they'd be all over it like leftovers at 1AM at the bar. Welcome to America land of payday loans, subprime loans, fake gucci bags, fake pros, fake tits, drug commericials for problems you didn't know you had, shitty beer, and chicken wings.

In other corners of the automotive world, people will make clones, replicas, resto-mods of cars that are usually very expensive/rare to begin with. A couple car auction sites will have some very well done ones that fetch a lot. Most are pre 1980's and collectible. Not sure why do it with a TRD, but to each their own.

The next time someone says the only difference for pro models is some shocks and leather seats. I will point them to this thread.

If I could have found a Pro for the miles and price I found my Sport at, it would have been a different outcome. But then again they stopped making Cav in Pro for 2019.

As usual though, it almost always costs less to get what you want in the beginning if it is available and you can afford it. Not all of us who are adding Pro stuff to our trucks needed or cared for all of it.

I realize this thread is just a curiosity thread. However, I submit to everyone who is cloning--or even thinking of cloning--their trucks the following:

Dude, why bother cloning one? Just buy the damned Pro and be done. This seems like an egregious waste of time to "convert" into a Pro. You get zero benefit too. You realize that dealers won't give you Pro resale (i.e. you've effectively thrown away probably $15k and lost your hind) and at the end of the day, you still know you're a faux Pro-broni.

You can't convert that VIN and you can't get back the time, money, and effort wasted...

    YOU P(R)OSERS!

That rand being over. It's your truck: do what you want. I bought mine because I liked it. No other reason. To each their own
