Can someone kindly take a quick pic of the latching mechanism of their center console for a 2nd gen? Mine is a 2006 TRD Sport. My Console Vault lid was being propped up by its contents, and now that I shut the main console lid, I cannot depress the button to open it as it is blocked from inside. I need to shimmy a puddy knife or something through the crack to jimmy it open, and I have no idea which direction to approach it or how the mechanism looks.

    Thanks in advance.

The latch button is available for cheap, so if you have to sacrifice the button, it’s no big deal. Just don’t damage the console or the lid.

I got one off Amazon for about 10 bucks or so. Lunkhead salesman at the Ford dealer told me I couldn't find the latch by itself. He said how do you think they make money? Have to buy the whole console lid. I almost killed the sale because of his attitude.
