So I need some tacomaworld help, got this battery from genesis off road thinking it would be a simple swap from my stock battery turns out it was not. So now I have a $300 battery in my garage that doesn’t fit unless I get longer cables which I’m not gonna do cause I don’t want to cross them over each other and have it look crappy. Options?

Could even do a beer feast at my house, as an option. Cheaper, and better view. But a bar is good, too. Might be some visual stimulation there.

That's rad! Tanya sounds familiar too, I just can't quite remember if she was the one that I leaned some print tracking from.

See if they'll swap it for a 34R. You've probably figured out the R stands for reversed by now. Shipping will cost but I bet it's less then buying the correct battery.

Thanks that’s what I’m hoping for, or I’ll just have to spend the extra $800 to run the duel battery setup :)

    Probably then, lol.

Working with her and Ryan are among my best memories from my time at De Anza. Such an awesome program they had there. I haven't really kept an eye on it since I was there in 2007-10 though, so I hope it's still going well.

Unfortunately that program no longer exists and Ryan currently doesnt teach there. Hes working for the City of Mountain View, has a side bird tour company for out of state birders, and runs a nonprofit getting entry-level biologists experience. On a very positive note, a huge tract of land ($97 million worth) just got purchased together by City of SJ, POST, and SCVOSA in Coyote Valley that connects the Diablo Range to the SC Mountains and is now preserved as open space. The work you were involved with definitely contributed to the to this. I'm part of a Coyote Valley working group and have used the De Anza data sets for some of our work. If your interested in more details, links to recent reports, etc.. send me a PM.

POST will probably sit on that for 5-10 years (as they often do) before it's available to the public. Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy about the acquisition, just disappointed by the bureaucracy.

There's another wildlife dude over on SouthBayRiders who works tracking cats. Man, some crazy shit there. They've done an amazing job gathering and data and understanding their habits/range.

Yeah you're right. For a couple properties I'm aware of that were purchased but not yet available to the public it is because they are in an initial study phase. One in the SC Mountains, they are figuring out where the mountain lions frequent (and other wildlife and/or rare habitats) to figure out where to build the trail system to avoid human-wildlife conflicts (potential impacts from us mostly). Then they build the trails and open it up. It's slow, but at least it's in perpetuity. For CV, they are in the planning phase to figure out the restoration work and make a recreation plan.

I wonder who the tracker is your taking about. It's a small group of people. I caught a collared mountain lion on my game cam on my property when I lived in New Almaden up in the hills. I kind of know the UCSC researcher who collared it so I reached out and he sent me the gps data for that cat. It was crazy to see where it traversed and frequented. I miss living there, had 3 lions all together and one female I saw once and got on my camera 13x. She would walk my driveway frequently, including mid day. I'm such a wildlife nerd I set up a tracking station and would swipe it clean everyday to see what moved through.

I drive two hours to hang out and seemingly work on my truck. @MyWyfsRnnr @TOP TACO and @Twizted and @OneGiraffe are always willing to help out and the hospitality of those folks is unbeatable. I'd love to meet only for beer though..

probably just need to extend the cable that goes into the fuse box. well, and find a way to make sure that big bastard is secured in the engine bay. you can find used peflrey boxes on here sometimes. cable extension is not a big deal. i just bought something like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/TOPDC-4-Gaug...keywords=battery+cable&qid=1581041278&sr=8-16

    and something like this:

    https://www.grainger.com/product/2F...s_kwcid=AL!2966!3!50916716157!!!g!88855682517!

cover with some heavy duty heat shrink tubing and voila. pretty sure i got the idea from someone in this thread.

edit: whoops, i see you got the one with the posts all up in east jesus. yeah, that's a bummer.

His name is David and he goes by "plantguy" on South Bay Riders. I've never met him but he seems to know his shit. I believe he's friends with Sarah (Metcalf Ranger) as well.
