That’s how I do them. I use the sleeves with bushing uppers and the misalignments with heims. Since I’ve been doing installs I’ve seen a handful of guys go from heims to bushings or the other way. So ideally I’d like the gussets to be close to fitting both.

How you guys can get such nice welds in such a tight space blows my mind.I felt like I had barely any room to work in there at all.

Its not the first set I’ve done. Each set gets better. Just be glad you only have to do it once.

I agree with the glad i only have to do this once. The Marlin HDLCA gussets sucked ass on jack stands. Not doing that on anyone's truck.
I don't recommend them over TC cam gussets unless your a good welder. I struggled as an rookie.

Got the main structure of the bed done and tacked together, ran out of gas as soon as I started fully welding it. Just need to make a compartment between the tires for storage and figure out fuel cell mounts and gussets. Overall really happy with how it turned out considering this was my first time ever bending Tube or really any tube work for that matter. No guidance or help just taught myself through YouTube really. Next up is the rest of the exocage into the front shock mounts. 18CC38FF-9BC7-439A-BED2-C4720A9A592E.jpgFFC09CA9-D83C-4272-AA59-E674EF138EB5.jpg 338B8CC6-D383-49E2-BE65-7F8DB90FE6F2.jpg

That kit requires a bunch of welding at different positions, overhead, etc....

I installed one set and it took me the whole damn day.

That's the whole reason I got into it. I push my truck HARD, welding is inevitable for someone like that.

But I can only get better by doing more. I doubt I would ever offer to do that for someone though, That was a TON of work.

I just don't have that feel down yet, but constant practice will always help.

I thought this one came out decent. Yesterday I had to grind out a weld and redo it, it was so ugly.

That’s a massive space. Come weld in places where the nozzle doesn’t fit and you have to use a mirror to see

My slider build was real slow too haha. I spent like 3 weeks weeks working on them in the evenings. 90% of the welds were Tig so it took forever.

I was thinking the same thing. When I was 18 I worked at an aerospace machine shop. I saw guys making tolerance repairs in crazy tight places. And that was gtaw. Makes mig look like a freebie.

Don`t be scaring them now !!

I wonder how many keep those mirror welding skills up to speed .

Although with the tech these days may as well use a camera

I can’t count how many gun nozzles I have trimmed down to make some welds in stupid spots lol

Tig the back side of coils inside reactors with a mirror on the Regs. I keep a few diff sizes. I either duct tape it or my fitter holds it.

Not just inside reActors, making tie-ins in trenches, pipes against pipes. Really all kinds of mirror welds in The chemical field.
