Do any of you guys know where I might find some rear shackles for my camp trailer? Do the guys that do the Chevy 63 swap reuse the stock ones?

The frame I bought is missing them.

Makes sense, I used to work at a bike shop in my younger years and dealt with a lot of two stroke rebuilds and 4 stroke valve shimming but if it dropped a valve your best bet is a new head or possibly an entire motor if you can find one pretty cheap. It’s the 5 valve head isn’t it?

Yeah its the 5 valve design. Bottom end of motor is still mint. I will probably just rebuild top end, new timing chain and valves, just put in new hot cams last year. Just a matter of finding a good head for decent price lol.

Improper measurements happen daily. Ground to fender is the most innacurate way to measure the lift height, especially when some photos are on snow, some are on the ground, and some are in different parking lots. Measuring from the bottom metal lip of the rim up to the fender, then deducting the radius of the wheel is the easiest way to get the center of hub to fender measurements, without having to randomly guess where the center of the hub is.

Yeah, never really had less height results before. Could be mislabled parts, but those guys have to go thru the right channels with Dobinsons for verification of what's going on.

Yeah, long beds get 1" less lift on average with the rear leaf springs

Never had a height issue with 4Runners either, but there's a guy yesterday on there with some springs that aren't producing the height, but he's giving all sorts of various measurements. It doesn't look right from photos, so I think his springs were mislabeled.

Could be a combo that's just seeing something strange, however each person with an issue has 302's, so I'd start with the coil verification first of all. They're to do that directly with Dobinsons as part of the warranty process, and to see what the cause could be.

Been selling the same coils, leaf springs and everything for Taco's and 4Runners for years now with consistent results, so either something was wrong with a few pairs of coils, guys just aren't measuring right (this is usually the case), or the truck is somehow heavier than normal.

Yeah, that's the goal. Help as quickly as possible to move on to the next person that needs help, or is bored and needs something to talk about on a Friday afternoon... I'm hungry, it's lunch time now.

Here is the BK9 that rides in my truck box. I just RIT dyed the micarta handles black, so it will be a close match to my truck! It's a little lighter than the color of my truck though. Walmart doesn't carry Satin Paprika, so I opted for this color instead.

I would prefer to see what people hated. More than likely I would be there and go..."Son of a bitch, I hate that shit or that person too!"
