Hello, long time Toyota Pickup & Tacoma owner (2 each; on 2nd Tacoma) with a mystery on my hands, hopeful that it's just "me" and the mystery is soon to be solved!
I recently purchased a 2008 Double Cab 4x4. It has a fair bit of mild corrosion under the Clear-coated surfaces on all 4 of it's 16", 6-lug, 6-spoke alloy wheels (or is "rims" more proper?). In addressing that issue the first step for me was to look online for what a new/refurb'd set costs to help me decide if I even want to try to refurb them myself. (It also needs new tires and TPMS transmitters, too). But I cannot seem to find any official info (Model, Style, Year, Application, etc.) for this wheel (which MUST be an OE product...?) on the 'net to save my life. (See attached pic). I've found PICTURES of these on a few other Tacos for sale online, and tons of examples and info for very similar-looking ones (ex. 17" 4Runner 6-spoke, 6 lug and many 5-spoke varieties) but they are not the same wheel. Can anyone shed some light on this mystery? I am totally mystified by the scarcity of info! Please help if you know anything that might help. I'm 55 and love a good mystery... but not the ones you can't find the answer to! ;-) And thank you in advance, C4Net.MyTacoRims-16in_6lug_6spk_alloy.jpg

will, thanks for the reply. Since I posted this question someone who owns a rim shop told me these were known as "Port rims", because they were put on at the Port... when the vehicle got off the boat from Japan, they had Plain Jane black steel. They said that likely why they're not listed as a part of available from Toyota... Sounds a bit strange, but that is all the info I've been able to scare up about these rims. Anybody out there heard of or know any more about Port rims?
