2nd GEN CBI Bed Rack on 3rd GEN - Mod for fit??

Did the site search and found no previous info on modifying a 2nd GEN CBI Overland Bed Rack to fit a 3rd GEN Tacoma.

I have an opportunity to buy a used 2nd GEN CBI rack for a decent price.

Seems like I'd simply need to shorten the cross bars a few inches & re-drill for to fit the slightly narrower bed on my 3rd GEN.

Asking those with many years of experience with Tacomas..... is there something that I'm missing here/ not considering?

Appreciate any experience you can provide here.
