So I have the tc rear shock relocation kit for a 2.0 shock I have a pair of 2.5 10 inch Kings I really want to run in that location with that kit because I already have it I asked total chaos if it’s possible they just told me to mock up and see I know that I can weld a bar in between the frame and hang the shocks on the inside of the frame but I’m trying to avoid that if I can I have 1.5 offset rims and can use wheel spacers if need be have tc 3.5 lt in the front so wouldn’t mind spacers thanks

I'm running the TC kit with 2.125'' shocks and don't have any issues. I think I've seen a few people running 2.5's on the kit, they just had to run larger wheel spacers than the 1.25'' spacer that TC recommends. The problem you might run into is the shock body contacting the frame in on the wheel that droops out when you articulate your suspension. As TC said, I would just bolt them up, articulate the suspension, and found out if they clear the frame or not.

Check out my thread El Honcho... I just fabbed my own SUA setup and I placed the shocks outside the frame. 14" 2.0 smooth body Bilstein 7100. I first used 1.5" spacer but after my first test run the tires were putting a lot of rubber on the outside of the shock body. I switched to a 2" spacer that definitely reduced the amount of tire contacting the shock body. I had cleaned the shock bodies and after the 2" were put on there is still some rubber marks on the shock body but it's a lot more minimal than it was originally. This is also with LT springs so not sure that helps if you dont have SUA kit. This is also a GEN 1 Taco. I would think the only difference would be during mock up you would just need the shock to sit a little further away from the frame then the 2.0

He's running the TC relocation kit so he has no choice how far the shocks sit off of the frame unless he got some offset misalignment spacers for the top mount.

Do you think it’s worth trying to run a 2.5 on the tc kit or should I just weld a bar on the inside of the frame and hang the shocks on the inside of the frame

I would give it a shot. Wheel spacers don't cost much and bolting them up and cycling the suspension won't take long.

My bad dog. I'm a newb man. I thought it was similar to the solo bent tube relocation kit. I see it isn't now that I have looked at it.

Couldn't you weld some outer lays on the frame? Like 3/16 or 1/4 or something and then weld that to it? That would space it out away from the frame further.

In theory you could, but if I'm not mistaken his TC kit is already installed.

Actually I just have the mounts in the box upper part isn’t hard to bolt on at all guess I could just tack weld the bottoms on and cycle out the rear ended what should I look for just contact with the frame when I lift one side of the axle up

Oh okay, that should work. Yeah just make sure the shock body isn’t contacting the frame. You could also try moving the lower shock mount as far out toward the wheel as possible to get the shock body away from the frame.
