Anyone else ever notice how some of the interior plastic panels on the 3rd gen are a slightly different shade of black than others when the light hits it just right? Like some panels have an almost purplish hue to it and others are jet black. Unfortunately I currently don't have a picture of it but I'll take one tomorrow to show you all what I mean. Sometimes I notice it and it kind of bugs me. Is there anything I could use like a plastic dye or plastic restorer to get all my panels looking uniform?

Hm Interesting, did not notice that, and i am pretty ocd when it comes to my truck.

    Try armor all?:notsure:
I have always used it on all my vehicles interiors and it always looked great.

    Good luck.

Nope, have you seen this from the start or is something that has developed over time?

Noticed it since new. And I bought the truck new. I'm probably one of the few people that are going to notice this since I'm super OCD with my stuff. It's really only noticeable when the sun hits it just right.

I've seen the same thing on my truck and it bugs me a little (2016 TRD DCSB OR 4x4 6Spd) When the time is right I'll pick up a can from NAPA Paints and use the vinyl paint they carry. I've used it on past vehicles and it looked great with a nice semi-gloss look.

I notice this on my truck since new and it looks funky. Also figured out its at certain angles and light.

I don’t like armor all (the whole drying out thing I read long ago) I use chemical guys no nonsense cleaner or meguiars all natural cleaner and their protector. It’s more of a natural look and not greasy. You could try meguiars vinyl/rubber cleaner/protector (can’t remember if it’s 205 or something like that). I also don’t like spraying directly on the dash/panels but on a microfiber

Can't say I have noticed any color variations, but that is because I try to avoid looking at the interior panels as much as I can, because I completely HATE the panels, their colors, and really, just how cheap they look and feel to me. I knew this going in, and thought I would learn to live with it, but I just cannot. SO, what am I going to do about it? Well, I am going to completely cover the door panels as well as the dash panel, in faux leather, which I already have obtained. I have an appointment with my local auto upholsterer to begin the process on February 20th. FINALLY THEN, I will no longer have to look at the much hated on my part, door panels! Stay tuned, people!

I've noticed a VERY slight difference under certain lighting for both my Tacoma and C7 Corvette and believe it's fairly typical for different components manufactured or even painted at different times to not be EXACT.

I replaced my D/S door sill plate recently as my original had heel scuff marks on it and the new is ever so slightly darker. Though not enough to really notice or bother me.

I assume you're talking about the black/inferno interior, which I have too. I've always though it looked a bit blueish in some areas, like the lower dash. It doesn't really bother me at all, kinda stylish. I usually get compliments from other peeps who drive trucks when they ride in mine.20191230_130815_HDR.jpgThis is the best pic I can find and it doesn't really show the blueish very well. Light has to hit it a certain way.

Well I tried taking pictures of my interior today but it just doesn't come out on camera like it does in person. I'm glad I'm not the only person that notices this though as it seems like at least a few of you see it too. I guess I'll just learn to ignore it.

It was a lot worse in my 2nd Gen ( lot of red/purple streaks). Injection molded plastic parts, not mixing batches well. Showed it to an injection mold engineer. this is what he mentioned.
