Best fitting/looking zero/negative offset 16" wheels?

Looking for the best value and best-looking stock size wheels to get rid of my spacers. I've always liked the styling of the bronze Konig's, don't like the gaudy styling of a lot of wheels that lifted pavement princesses I see. I like the steelie look but would like to add strength and lose weight (if possible) over the stock 16" TRD offroad wheels. From what I've found out the 2005-15 TRD Off-Road 16" alloys have 30mm offset, and so with the 1.25" spacers I have brought it to about zero offset, but now I want to get rid of them and am also needing to replace my tires, so might as well kill two birds with one stone. I have read that the problem of negative offset wheels may be clearing calipers.

Tires wise, I am looking at getting Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx in 255/85R16, currently running Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/75R16, so 2" increase in tire size, a slight decrease in width and a more aggressive tire tread. Running a 2.5" lift, 6112/5160s. Not at highest notch (6112s), no aftermarket UCAs, rear overload leafs removed. Looking at getting SPC UCAs and possibly new leafs to compensate for lack of overload leafs in rear in the future.

The closest thing I've seen tonight that I like is this guy's truck with 16x8.5 -12 wheels, which I think is the best "flush" look I've seen on a Tacoma I'm going for:

Methods are 16x8 0 offset. Offset isn't going to have much to do with caliper clearance. Any 16" rim is going to clear the calipers. -12 is going to give you a little poke but not much. My 18x8 -25 stick out maybe an 3/4-1" outside the fenders with 285's

Thank you for your consideration! We would be happy to help get the right fitment and achieve the look you're going for. You mentioned a concern with the brake caliper clearance, the wheels you are considering shouldn't have any brake caliper to wheel issues. Typically you would see that problem when you are downsizing wheels or going to a positive offset that would pull the spokes closer to the brakes caliper face.

One thing you could do to get an idea of where the new set up would be is take a tape measure and map it out. For example a 16x8 0 offset method wheel, measure from your stock wheel lip out 1 3/4" out, this will be about where the new wheel lip will be. The tire you mentioned 255/85/16 is 1.4" bigger by rolling diameter than the 265/75/16 so 3/4" from the wheel out taller. If you measure it out and it looks right then you have found the right fitment.

 

Check out Fifteen52 Turbomacs. They will be available the end of March in 16" and have a 0 offset. I have the carbon grey on order.
