Escort Rally

 

I think if I had to answer "what is a dream of yours?" it would probably have to be to be a rally racer. I don't know why, but it has always been one of the neatest things to me, and has to be so exhilarating.

 

That or Baja! Going fast off-road would be so much fun.

 

agreed. only reason I'd choose rally over baha is I'd rather go 60 through crazy tight courses than 110 across a desert lol. I'd sure as hell do either though.

Got the F40 apart.


Going to detail the engine. Think some fine tip paint pens should do the trick. The whole car itself requires cleaning and polishing.

 

Don't like the tan interior. Gonna change that.

Here are some more things on there way out. Bobby Allison,Terry Labonte, Dale Earnhardt, Ernie Irvin, Harry Gant, Ned Jarrett, Herb Thomas and Wendall Scott are some of these cars. The 94, 92 and 11 are metal cars. The others are models I have built. The Skoal Bandit was built with a decal kit I ordered. The Herb Thomas Fabulous Hudson Hornet and Ned Jarretts 65 Galaxie are money pieces.

I smashed Hot Wheels like those in the late 60s. Made them look like they wreaked with a hammer. I had that one too. Mine was yellow green. If we only knew.
I know a guy who has an amazing collection of old vintage Tonkas from that era. He never played with them as a kid and kept them in the original boxes. The boxes are even mint. He has all of them displayed in his home now. I cant imagine what they must be worth. When I saw this I kept asking myself what kid does not play with his toys? This guy is quirky. He also has a (new 78 Camaro) that his parents bought him for graduation sitting disassembled in the garage. He hardly ever drove it when he got it and one day decided to disassemble it and it has sat there for 40 years like that.
For some reason I pity his wife.
