Really digging the yellow fog lights.

Took 15 minutes today with a can of Dupli-Color Metalcast (Item # MC202) Found a bunch of longer sized index cards and just wedged them in between the fog light housing and front fender and sprayed 2 coats.

If anyones in or around the Baltimore/Columbia MD area and wants to borrow my paint, let me know.

Looks good man. Off-topic question: What kind of grille do you have and how do I get a hold of one?

Will that actually make it functional or is it strictly cosmetic?

The same shit everyone else has.
The metalcast is nice but it doesn’t hold up for shit.

When mine were tinted with Metalcast, I was redoing them yearly.

    Got mine here http://www.madhornets.com/3rd-gen-t...-letters-for-tacoma-2005-06-07-08-09-10-2011/

It comes all black, so I used some dupli-color color match spray paint to do the silver parts.

In all honesty, it doesn't really line up with the hood perfectly which kind of bugs me, but for only $100 i'll keep it. Some people have said a bug deflector will hide the gap.

mine have held up fantastic with minimal fading for 3 years now actually and I have my mini cooper headlights done too for about a year. I do keep them in the garage though which i am sure really helps. My old Civic SI that sat outside years ago I redid them and it was quite simple i just used gasoline and a rag and it came right off and I resprayed. Looks great dude. Metalcast gives it the most factory look

    Looks better.
Not sure if this is the best clear yellow paint out there.
There is also the option of clear yellow film to apply.
I wonder what prep work is involved to ensure a good result, such as if it should be sanded.
I've heard people say that whenever clear coating headlights, that it helps to sand them a certain grit first, because the clear coat ends up filling the microscopic abrasion voids from the sanding, resulting in a clear smooth finish.
As well as giving the clear a good rough surface go grab onto/bite, versus being harder to stick onto a smooth polished surface.
I already polished mine with a DIY restore kit; not sure if that would make it too slippery for paint.

Good yellow bulbs are nice too.
