I tried to charge my IPhone Pro Max last night back from the Dealer in Houston by plugging into USB forward of the shifter on dash and it would not charge. Took phone out of case and put on QI charger and it was slow and phone got pretty warm. Truck is used 2016 Trd Sport. Didn’t know about USB ports under arm rest. Did briefly look in manual found nothing on USB port charging. Please advise. Thanks Wayne

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Kumho AT52 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 replacement head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
Suggest you look at the Apple cord you are using as some after-market cords don’t work so well using USB. My iPhone X and wife’s XR charge just fine in my Tacoma using various ports and the charging pad. But we’ve noticed some cheap cords cause problems.

My wireless is also worthless and phone gets hot. The usb by cigarette light and under arm rest are also trash and don't even charge 1-2% in an hr lol.

I have a 2020 and the USB port in center stack charges at full speed. Qi charger is similar charging speed to what I get from one on my night stand (slower than cable and warmer). I have another two USB ports in arm rest cubby that are also full speed. I use Apple or Anker cables. Don’t use beat up or cheap cables. I have iPhone XS.

That's cool and I'll just have to get a cigarette lighter adapter and go that route or add a fast usb up to back of lighter and put in dual usb somewhere around dash

just get any 12v usb plug for the 12v cig ports. That is what I use to chage my X. The stock USB will but the output is crap so it takes forever or doent if your running music or other apps.

My iPhone 11 Pro charges very slow using the wireless option and it will get rather warm.
