I have a 2nd gen with 5100’s set at 1.75 with stock coils. I’m wanting to set them to 2.5 but been reading and getting a lot of conflicting info about the amount of lift causing issues and some saying no issues. Help me out. If you feel the need to comment beyond my choices please feel free to help. I’ve heard to stay below 2.25 to avoid these potential issues and can’t afford uca’s right now. Thanks.

I don't know since I'm on stock height with 4600's,

but I heard to set higher travel with shocks such as the 5100, that taller spring parts may be needed. Such as front coil spring and rear leaf springs, either adding a leaf or replacing the entire pack with a different one (adds cost)
and that it can result in the need for an ECGS bushing

idk if 5100's alone, based on their settings, can do all the lift raising for the truck

Curious to know if there's any more to it

I wonder if CV boots tear at a faster rate with the increased angle of a lift or not

The main problem is that your preloading the spring even more so the ride will tend to be more harsh.

I understand that but have read and heard the coil may or may not hit the uca.

That’s is a possibility. Each truck is different unfortunately so you won’t know till you do it.
