Most of them are adjustable. The middle insert is spring loaded so you can mount the brackets further apart to get added space for the roll

Installed this Wyze cam in about 20 minutes after work today, neighbors are getting sketchy again (back doing drug deals out front, odd activity) so I wanted to put this up to keep an eye on parcels that get delivered.
I still need to seal the hole for the cord but I didn’t feel like going out and getting material so it might get done tomorrow weather permitting.


And of course on top of the 3 total cameras (1 inside and one on the back porch) we have a monitored alarm system as well as 2 German shepherds so with a few more perimeter cameras and re-wiring the perimeter lights our security system should be “good enough”.

 

The stack should have been on the outside wall. I was thinking a full soffit, or head off the joists so the drain is in the ceiling.

 

There’s not really a “fix” without redoing all of the plumbing for that drain. I’d rather keep the ceiling notch than redo plumbing. I can take pictures tonight of all the plumbing.

 

Although we have one dog, the camera obsession grew to 8. All outside, and covering every entry point. I was told best way to do it, is to have covering angles. One facing one way, and the other the opposite way. My NVR only handles 8 cameras, but it 100% cover's my property, and records 13 days without deleting. A few upgraded cameras and I should be done for a while

 

I'm in the same boat, I have 1 4k camera recording 24/7 the roads approaching my house recording to my NAS, 6 ring cameras outdoors covering every angle of the house, 6 wyze cam's indoors: 2 of them are dedicated cameras for monitoring my sump pits all recording locally to onboard SD cards. Then all of my Home Assistant automation on top of that all backed up to a cellular uplink and backup UPS system. The only way into my house without tripping something is through my roof haha.

Started installing our railing system yesterday

The posts are 2"x2" stainless , fascia mounted

I'm making the handrail from some of the Bangkarai yellow Balua decking material , there is a 2"x1" sub rail that will then have a 4"x1" cap on it

The handrail mounts to the posts by way of post caps that have an integral fixing flange for screwing into the handrail from below

These fixtures need to be routed into the sub rail for a flush fit

To rout the rails I made a routing template from some plywood and used a templating collar in the router with a 3/8" upspiral cutter




The rail section joints are reinforced with 8mm x 50mm sipo dominos




I got all the posts mounted and most of the sub rails installed over the last 2 days



Tomorrow I will finish the sub rail install and we will start installing all the cable
