New Dashcam Adapter? SimpleUSB Gone

    So I recently ordered my Viofo dashcam, and had bookmarked the Amazon page for one of the SimpleUSB adapters by Dongar Tech a while ago. Went to order the 12-pin adapter today only to find they're unavailable and don't know when or if they'll be back in stock! Does anyone have a different clean solution for powering the dashcam off of the mirror? Both 12 and 10 pin versions seem to have gone the way of the dodo bird... I thought it would be a quick google search for a different brand but this guy seems to be the only shop that makes these.

    So, looking at that SimpleUSB contraption on Amazon makes me wonder. What type of DC power connector is that on the back of the mirror? Or is it just 2 plain holes where you poke 2 bare wire leads into?

    Two pins for power. But it's a 12-pin connector and some of the other pins are used for other things... dimming, compass, etc.

    Update: the seller contacted me after I sent an email through his website. Apparently the Coronavirus is to blame for the shortage in parts coming from China. Thanks Obama.

    Same thing here. I ordered a Garmin Dash Cam 56 and it came today. But I couldn't order the 12-pin SimpleUSB adapter due to out of stock. I'm waiting on a few other parts to show up also, so that I can mount the 56 to the truck's existing GoPro mount.

    That seems awkward to have to just poke 2 bare wire leads into the mirror. A shame they couldn't use a more standard type connector like a USB.
