Hey everyone. I am new to the forums here, but have been reading for quite a while. I haven't found any videos or tutorials that has the same rear end as mine does. There are no clips holding the U-joint in, and where the U-joint is bolted on to the axle, is on a shaft that slides in and out of the drive shaft. Is the U-joint replaceable, or do I have to replace the entire assembly?

https://youtu.be/6arj3PpT1p4 The clips are on the inside of the yoke. They are "C" clips. Scrape the grease away and you will see them!

take it to a shop. i struggled for a day trying to change mine. even after you get the clips out it doesn't quite push the cups out. i have a press too. ended up having to do some careful grinding on the old cups to get them to drop free when they were pressed. eventually did it. but regretted the time spent.

It’s not that bad of a job. You’ll need a press or a hammer and some impact sockets and a vice. The clips are on the inside. I replace the front and rear u joints on mine probably a year ago. Took me a couple hours but wasn’t that bad of a job

The u joint has internal snap rings, look at the inner part of the yokes on the caps and you will see them.

I will take a look on the insides like you all said. Not used to the clips being on the inside. Probably be this weekend's project. Thanks for the replies everyone! I got frame and bed work to do too.
