Yeah, they're everywhere up there. They're "snowplow proof".

It depends on the USPS regulations in your area. Check with your mail carrier or postmaster.

Kinda bugs me this information isn't readily available online, its 2020! Anywho i'll head down there tomorrow on my off-Friday and see what my options are. Logically, it sounds weird to me that they WOULDN'T allow me to move it, that would basically mean they are forcing me to allow someone on my property everyday. But again, won't put the horse before the cart, i'll get this settled and report back. I swear i'm not weird i'm just one of those people that if I don't have to deal with someone in person/phone I would totally rather not.

Went to the local post office. They were of no help but only to provide me an email address I have to email with details of my plans to get approved. Took some photos and described what I want to do and supposedly they will get back to me.

Door delivery is a relative luxury, and the postman will gladly use any standard USPS mailbox you buy from the big box stores.

In my old neighborhood everyone got door delivery and the post office was trying to force everyone to switch. We learned that if new builds just refused and didn’t put a mailbox out, they’d deliver to the door. It worked cause most had door delivery.

In new developments around here hey don’t even have mailboxes at your lot, but communal boxes down the street.

Keep door delivery if you can, cause your house may never be able to go back after putting a mailbox out.
