My sliders are powdered coated, but slee powder coats all their stuff. No complaints from me tho cuz it’s held up really well.

Which road? Willow Flats to Eye of Whale or Tower Arch 4WD off Salt Valley? Got my Highlander a little way into Tower Arch, then didn’t have enuf clearance to proceed. Which was good as it gets hairy soon after my turnaround. When I changed the diff fluid later my plastic “skid plate” was shattered. Drove all of Tower Arch in my stock Tacoma the next year, bypassed the biggest ledges. Photo 1. Lot of fun, knew I needed a front camera as a solo driver. Which was the only unsuccessful mod I attempted before last years run. Yeah, no way a car is going to make it anywhere but stuck. Photo 2, Chinese girl tourists in backcountry. The road right south of tower arch. We made it about 3/4 of the way to the turn to go south before calling it quits and going back.

that was the first trip I had done with the tundra so we were overly cautious and moving pretty slow as I was still getting used to the truck and it’s capabilities.

Going back today I’m sure we could go farther. Did get some looks from people that couldn’t believe it was back there.

Sorry for the long leave of absence, just got caught up on all the missed posts. Been busy with the newborn, and dealing with insurance (which reminds me I need to call them today). Also @CygnusX191 the 4runner getting destroyed twice, neither of those were my fault either, jerk. :duel:

I WISH, actually...full armor (minus the bumpers) is waiting on a Mod Day to be scheduled... ahem... @G.T.
When are you planning on Moab? we might have a small group going at the same time
Why not go this summer..Say around July 4th?

Just watched this the other day, always enjoy his stuff.

Summer is ungodly hot, camping is impossible unless you get up into the mountains. September, early October are good. Late October is sketchy

Won't be able to for a couple of years. I had quit my job and the new one I had was so shitty that I quit after a week and went back to my old one so I'm starting over with my seniority and vacation time. Got my pay back at least

@Willy224 the second time wasn't your fault, I'll give you that. The first time.... Well that was you running into a pole :D :duel:

@Shellshock September, you say? Hmm... Good to know.

Maybe we'll just take a trip to Canada in July instead eh?

I was talking about when the lady pulled out in front of me and when the guy totaled it. That's the only two accidents ever being recorded as happened as far as insurance or anybody else is concerned :anonymous:

I’m running my fridge off a single 27f. It’s good for a couple days dependent on your settings and ambient temp. Dual batteries are overrated for most instances IMO

I was looking at the Genesis Offroad Dual Battery Kit. I'm just terrified of being "that guy" that wakes up the next morning to a dead battery and asking for a jump. Plus then I can run my ambient lighting all night too and not have to worry.

Just pack a new battery in the back. Worst case you have to change it out.

If you are just running overnight, a single battery should be more than sufficient. I can go 2-3 days running the fridge off mine without running the truck. 12 hours should be no issues in nearly any temperature. I ran almost 24 off the shitty stock battery in 100+ temps down in the southwest.

I do carry a jump pack with me, just in case (NOCO GB70) but I’ve never needed it

I think we are headed back out to CO and UT in September this year. If I remember, he said last two weeks was what him and his wife took off.

Based on my experience living in Colorado, September is definitely the best time to be out west.
