You the real mvp. Will check and confirm this after I return from the gym. Needed to clear my head. Cracked my windshield earlier today too. Not a great day

haha good to know its been working out well for you.

I thought he intercooler pump had its own circuit / fuse rather than sharing something.

I have to add that if the fuse blows again your pump may be drawing too much amperage which would be indicative that the motor in the pump is on its way out. It would be a great time to upgrade to the Benz pump if so. ;)

Because there are too many sensors which are coding for him which are all tied to the EFI #2 fuse circuit. Lol.

Yeah, no, Magnuson in all their infinite wisdom thought it would be great piggyback off a shared circuit. Real nice right?

Sounds like the same issues I was having. My mechanic told me it was my intake manifold spacer and took it off. BUT they never changed my upstream afr sensors (there was some miscommunication somewhere between the office manager and the actual mechanic) and pulled the IMS at the same time the new afr sensors went in. Check your sensors.

Fuse had come out and was just sitting in the fuse box. I was playing in that area the other day. Must have wiggled it loose. Really appreciate the quick and helpful responses guys

So Magnuson is using hptuners now for tuning?! How long has this been going on...

On an unrelated note, I just had a random thought run through my head a few minutes ago.

I'm a manual trans so I have no experience with the trans tuning. Is it any more complicated than the engine tuning? My question being, a friend is patiently waiting for hptuners to unlock support for the 3rd gen tacoma. He had an automatic trans and hates the way it shifts like the rest of auto owners. How complicated is it to start tweaking things?

    Wouldn't THAT be nice!

Truthfully speaking I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to do. Just wire the pump to a relay which turns on after the ignition turns on. I'm lazy though and don't feel like doing extra footwork to do that so I just leave it be for the time being.

My laziness will undoubtedly be the death of me and I will pay for that dearly later on. Hahaha.

I would be very eager to see that tune file and would LOVE to poke my head around some auto trans tuning on the 3rd gen platform when it comes out. From a tuning perspective on the 2nd gens, the auto trans tuning is much much easier than the engine tuning, simple defined threshold curves that determine what gear to be in and when. 3rd gens are likely different as they can skip gears (you cant do that in the 2nd gens) and do all sorts of funky stuff.... i know OVtune went back to a more 2nd gen-esque trans tuning which resolves lots of the hunting etc. When HPT comes out for the 3rd gen i wanna get my hands on a tune file asap!

If im not mistaken the TRD super from toyota taps into an ignition wire to power the coil on the intercooler pump relay, that ignition wire is one thats usually switched on and off with ignition, but does turn on every 4 hours or so for evap haha.

Either way yes you are right a separate circuit for intercooler pump would be ideal and very easy to do.

The "base" shift tables in the 3rd gen are not all that different than the 2nd gen. Except there are many more.
There are also tables that look to lock out over-drive when you are accelerating. So even if you "meet" that shift point, if you are in acceleration, they are locked out.
On top that there are multiple different transmission torque tables to calculate optimal shifting, with these tables being dependent on what gear you are in, what the speed is of the truck, etc.

We designed our own algorithm that eliminates a lot of this, changes the way the shift routine is handled, changes the optimal torque maps, condenses the optimal torque maps and we designed our own larger transmission torque table (stock being 17x17, ours being 24x26)

you can tune the "base" shift tables (1 to 2 up, 2 to 1 down) FOREVER and really go nowhere on the platform, due to the underlying code you can't change (on hp tuners or other software)

When the software releases I see it happening just like the Tundra. Literally overnight there are new "experts" on the platform, who understand everything. Will be funny to watch.

jeeeezus yeah, no wonder why that trans is all over the place.

and lol, yeah i could totally see that happening, I mean It took me a good chunk of time to wrap my head around the auto trans stuff on the 2nd gen before I was able to go, ok i want it to do this and know what to do.... with all that extra stuffs... wowza!

Yes that's exactly the way the intercooler pump works from Toyota/ Magnuson. It's annoying because of the EVAP thing you mentioned.
