I did this mod as well. I like the seat height. However, it seems like my seat "creaks" now when i turn a corner or gove over a speed bump. Even my wife has noticed the noise. I didn't notice this before the modification. I tightened the bolts to the specified torque, so i don't think that is the issue.

Either that or carve a giant red crab out of it, as posted earlier that’s certainly what is starting to look like on its own!

In preparation for my RTT, I installed some Total Chaos bed stiffeners, and my KB Voodoo Bed Rack with the Bakflip brackets.

IMG_20200210_182400.jpg When I purchased my taco in 2018 it didn't come equipped with homelink and I soon realized how much I missed having it. After several months I got tired of looking at that ugly ass garage door opener clipped to my visor so I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a homelink mirror. I bought it used but still cost me $150 bucks. This was after researching this forum for a cheap solution to integrate my garage door opener to my truck. Nothing I found seemed like a quick simple solution. So recently I purchased a used Mazda 6 as my daily driver for work to avoid putting so many miles on my truck. I like everything that little 4 banger has to offer with the exception that it doesn't have homelink. It wasn't worth going up the next trim level for a damn garage door opener. I searched the Mazda forum and guess what I found? The best $60 dollar solution that works on any vehicle. It's called Tailwind. I received it this weekend and installed it in under 30mins. I've attached the link below for a description of what it does. I thought I would share this with my Tacoma peeps and hopefully help someone save some time, money, and headache, especially for those trims that can't add a homelink mirror to your truck.

Can you look at your Tailwinds Smart phone app and tell me what permissions it asks for ?

Also, can the police open it at will ?

    What about hackers ?

If someone has your phone and you don't have the phone locked they can use the app to get in. Same goes if someone has your garage door opener. As for the vehicle, it has to be running or turned on and your phone connected to the vehicles Bluetooth for it to open the garage while pulling up. If the cops have either of things mentioned above that's the only way they can get in. As for hackers they would need a 4 digit code you assigned to it to get into Google Assistant, IFTTT, or Alexa.
The reason I purchased this is because I keep my Mazda outside as both of my other vehicles are kept in the garage. I don't feel comfortable leaving a vehicle parked outside with either a garage door opener or a homelink activated inside the car. Anyone can break your car window or worse forget to lock your car and they get into it. Garage door openers or homelinks will work without your vehicle being turned on and running. Once they get in your garage they can close it behind them and try to get in your home using whatever tools you keep in that garage. Since I'm Pro-gun someone would have to work really hard to get in my home just to get shot. :infantry:Screenshot_20200210-190339.jpg

I did it while they were on. Left the residue on for a day before wiping it off. Might be best to tape it off completely if your sidewalls are pristine and don't want a little film on them. If you decide to take them off completely, make sure you stand them up for the spraying, not laying down.

Project "Back in Black" has begun. Covered all the bright warning labels on the visors, removed the goofy wind dam, plasti dipped the hood scoop and added a matte textured bug deflector. It's a start. :) Lots more black to come!

    I'll give you a hint...

I really stretched my mechanical abilities tonight - installed a coin box and glove box letters by tacos4cheap. Tough, I know, but I got them both done in an evening. Time for a beer.

So I wanted to get the Tuffy security lock box for the driver side bed storage, because I always used it on my old 2006 Taco but always wished there was more space, and when I went out to look at my new 2020 taco in the driveway, I realized...... THERE IS NO BOX. Called the dealer and he says they did away with it for 2020. I asked if I could cut a hole and DIY, and even though he said I shouldn't, he said it's feasible. I wondered if anyone else has had this issue yet. I searched the forums but did not see a thread on it. The dealer sent me an image of the body side panel blow out for reference which I posted below.
