Well the phone is slowly dying (BB Motion running Android). Was thinking of heading to the dark-side that is IPhone, since I have a Mac, wife's phone is Apple etc.
Anyway, I have read about issues with the IPhones connecting reliably to the Entune system (this is a 2015 TRD sport). Is this specific to particular iPhone models? i.e. X's 11's, 8's?
    Any suggestions appreciated.

My iPhone SE running an iOS 13.X version of some sort was really weird with the Entune (non-GPS) in my 2015 DC. It would pair automatically, but then wouldn't send any sound to the speakers either in call or music mode. I'd end up turning off BT on the iPhone so both ICE and phone would work properly. I futzed around with it dozens of times and never came up with a workflow I was satisfied with.

I moved my head unit to an Entune-GPS from, I think, a 2013 Tacoma, and it works much better. I can make handsfree calls and listen to music now. When the weather changes I'm going to install an additional USB for pure (and higher) power to charge devices. The OE USB connected to the headroom is really only for data transfer.

So yes, my experience was sketchy with 2015 Entune and iPhone SE.

You've tried pairing your wife's iPhone to your Tacoma, yes? Does it do that reliably? If so, I'd expect your new iPhone to do the same.

You make a very good point...My wife's phone is an 8S...I will try pairing hers and see how that works.
    Cheers, Jeff

The same shit everyone else has.
I have a ‘15 non JBL in my truck. My iPhone 6 pairs with no issue 90% of the time.

The only time it doesn’t is when you start the truck when the phone isn’t in range to connect to BT. Gotta either restart the truck a couple times or forget/find BT device on the phone.

With the latest iOS update I can no longer stream Spotify from my iPhone SE via Bluetooth. When the phone pairs with the Entune it just says no music can be found on the device.

Using a USB lightening cable everything works fine, though.
