    Headstrong:

    I called last week, but looks like your place was extremely busy after the holidays, so I thought it might work better here.

    I am looking at purchasing the 6112/5160 kit trying to get a 2"-2.5" lift on my 2013 4x4 TRD Sport DCLB:

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p186/Performance_Bilstein_Kit_(HS05BK-2).html

    I think (correct me if I wrong), with the extra weight of a long bed, I will go with the strut assembly on the 4th notch to get over 2".

    Question: at a setting of 4, is the coil compressed such that I won't get full travel out of the strut? Or do you match a coil for a particular settting on the 6112?

    I will also be getting the LR UCA and the HS 3-Leaf AAL.

    Also, would this kit come with pack to correct for the taco lean?

    Thanks.

    Good afternoon Atomic:

    I am so sorry that it took me awhile to get back to you, our offices close at noon on Fridays and we don’t come back in until Monday morning at 9am. Mondays are hectic and I get to the e-mails in the order that they were received so it took me a bit to get to your e-mail.

    The 6112's will provide around 2.15" of lift on the 4th notch setting.

    Bilstein considered coil bind when making these. In other words even with the coils being preloaded on the highest notch, the coils will not bind (coils completely compressed) under full shock compression.

    The coil is the same regardless of notch setting.

    The kit does include the 1/4" top plate spacer to accommodate for the lean you see when switching from factory to aftermarket coils.

    Please let me know if there is anything else that I can assist you with.

    Thank you so much.

    Thanks for the reply Marie.

    One last question: Does one have have to do anything (i.e., like a drop with spacers) for the differential?

    Looking to place an order tomorrow.

    It is hard to say if you would require a diff drop. It all comes down to your after lifted angles. This is something that we typically have in stock so if you find you need it we could get it out to you fairly quickly. If you purchase it with a kit is runs $30 and on its own it is $37.99.

    Please let me know if there is anything else that I can assist you with.

    Thank you so much.

    Ok, spent the last two days putting my kit on and getting it in for an alignment.

    2013 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed Sport 4X4

    This was my kit:
    Bilstein 6112 on 4th notch up front w/ 1/4 spacer on drivers side for taco lean.
    Bilstein 5160 rears
    Headstrong 3 leaf progressive AAL with overload leaf left in.
    SPC Light Racing UCA's

    Initial Numbers (measured from center of hub):
    LF=19-1/2"
    RF=20-1/4"
    LR=22"
    RR=22-1/4"

    Post Lift:
    LF=22-1/4"
    RF=23"
    LR=24"
    RR=24-1/2"

    Lift:
    LF=2-3/4"
    RR=2-3/4"
    LR=2"
    RR=2-1/4"

    Rake Before Lift:
    Left=2-1/2"
    Right=2"
    Rake after Lift:
    Left=1-3/4"
    Right=1-1/2"

    I expect some settling...gonna probably hit my target of 2-1/2" front lift after it settles.

    I'm doing similar upgrade to my 2012.
    What did your OEM leafs look like prior to AAL install (mine are pretty flat)....and are they 2+overload or 3+overload?

    My original OEM were the 3+overload. The headstrong kit adds 3 more leafs and I kept the overload on.

    Pics pics pics.....I really like the 5160's but when running Dakars it seems like they would not allow the maximum amount of travel/droop. Also, are the shock rods covered or exposed? It seems if they are exposed that the tire spray from the passenger front would damage it.

    I know this is an old post. Did you have any settling over time? Any idea on measurements?

    I haven't measured...but I've also an overlander using a leer cap with alot more stuff loading things down ( i.e., like bed drawer system, solar panels and batteries, cab rack, etc... ) So I wouldn't be able to provide an accurate before/after measure since I'm sure settling is due to the added weight from all the stuff I've added.
