Bad rca?

Soo for the longest time thought wire was loose for my speakers . It the rca for my mid speaker channel 4. I swapped with my channel 3 which was the other mid and played way louder. Is there any way to fix this or gotta buy new rca? Seem the rca connector not as snug. Any suggestion on good rca from ebay ? Knukoncepts or skyhigh?

 

First make sure the outer and inner conductors are clean, possibly with rolled up wetordry sandpaper and DeoxIT. Also make sure the outer pins on the RCA cable are slightly bent inward enough to grab the outer conductor of the plug and use a needle or fine tweezer to make sure the inner conductor of the plug is tight enough to grab the post of the cable plug.

Also wriggle the end of the cable when connected to try to isolate a bad connection in the cable or perhaps where the plug solders into the PC board.

 

Will do so this weekend , will try both end on the amp and deck. There is sound coming out from the bad rca it just not as loud as the other mid... you can def hear a difference.

 

Soo did it and worked both ends. Here the thing after i turned it off it went back to being softer then the left side.

 

After you fixed the connections, you're saying it worked correctly, then after you turned it off/on it had reduced volume again?

Try shaking the cables at both end trying to find if anything fixes it-- bad wire inside the cable, or bad sockets that became desoldered from the board in the radio. You can also try replacing your cable or check that the cable has nearly 0 Ohms resistance for each conductor with a multimeter.

Also it's not really necesary to buy expensive RCA cables. A cable of decent gauge and gold coated plugs that don't corrode should be under 20 bucks. These cables don't carry much current and thus don't need to be the overdesigned ones unless you want to pay for the look of expensive cables.
