hey everybody, my buddies and i installed the front half of my rough country LIFT kit with the preloaded n3 struts and it went pretty smooth except for some huge hiccups due to rust and over tightened stuff, but afterwards at full lock, sitting in place, both left and right, at full steering lock and just before it, the truck lowers and goes back up in the front when i bring it further from lock, im thinking its my steering pulling on it and at full lock it pulls it down because its stock steering and compresses the system a bit, and yes i am still on stock wheels and tires, im sure when i put bigger wheels and tires on, maybe it wont happen because i may not be able to get to lock with out rubbing, i plan on finishing the lift and bringing it to the shop for an alignment and most likely replacement of ball joints, i may do ball joints with my friend, but i was just wondering if anyone had run into that weird bouncing with the steering at full locks on a 3 inch lift, i havent driven it enough with this on to really notice it while im moving but any help is very appreciated!! This kit did come with a front diff drop.fyi

Almost sounds like something may have been left loose during install. Is this a spacer style lift or new coils? How many inches? Anything over 2.5 to 3 you’ll probably need new upper control arms.

And as a heads up most people on here are probably going to recommend going with something other than rough country. And it seems most people don’t run the diff drop due to it not be being a true differential drop, it more less just rotates it down a little.

Its a 3inch front-preloaded rc struts, and 2inch rear-blocks with new longer shock absorbers.

Im a teen in highschool so this fit my budget without being a cheap leveling kit. And it does look like my upper control arms fit with no problems, i feel like the kit wouldve come with necessary hardware to make it possible with no problems. And the diff drop had spacers to lower the diff braces therefore lowering the diff.

As long as you don’t plan to do much off-roading rough country should be just fine.. and most lift kits actually don’t come with new upper control arms but is sometimes needed to correct your alignment some people can get by without them others can’t, only true way to know is when you get it aligned.

but anyways I’d recommend double checking that nothing is loose and everything is torqued to spec and that no suspension parts are bad(ball joints, Bushings, etc) I currently have a 2 inch rough country leveling kit and a deaver AAL but i will soon be going bilstein 5100s and Ome springs. And my truck does not lift when turning like you are experiencing.

And you may endure some axle wrap and driveline vibrations once you do the rear which are usually easily correctable.

Did you torque everything to spec under the weight of the truck?

That's completely normal for it to do that that sitting still with the wheel lock to lock. Does it because the sway bar loads up on either or side. As long as you got everything torqued to spec no need to worry about it.

Thankyou everybody and i have brought it to the shop after doing the rear lift and they checked and tightened everything, actually @Greenedmc , i have been getting this weird almost of a rub sound but i describe it as a wooommmppp, and normally happens between 30-45 mph, i can feel it in the pedals and steering wheel, its a vibration, not shake, just vibration. Almost louder than the engine drone but barely, and i quicklet looked around outside and nothing looks out of line, loose, or in bad shape, i heard the same noise but quieter before i brought it to the shop. Sometimes i have rides where i rarely hear it or dont hear it at all.

That could be a driveline vibration but kinda sounds like the clamshell bearing.. does it go away if you put it in 4x4

It happens in neutral, and i havent been able to test 4wd at higher speeds than like 10mph because there hasnt been snow...

So thats what really confuses me and my friends, i was planning on calling the shop back so maybe they would look at it/and or fix it if needed without charge since it became worse after the shop, but yeah the boise is exactly the same when i roll in neutral, its unchanged, and it doesnt seem to be affected when im on or off the brakes, and it does sound like its from the front, so possibly front suspension-ish area

Just put it in 4wd for a few seconds when you feel the vibration. If it goes away its probably the front diff bushing
