    Hey TW,

I have searched the interwebs trying to find a solution for loose / rattling rear fender liner / skirt that only make a racket. There are a few photos of the final product showing a button head bolt, but no naked rear fender without the inner skirt looking up at the top two tree type retaining clips. In one thread, the guy had welded nuts there, but this is plastic right?

As a potential solution I am searching for replacement tree type retaining clips, but only finding the square screw type. The hope is to cut some foam washers with TW help identifying the part number for the tree type retaining clips.

Please help so I don't follow one Tacoma owners solution of stuffing a dirty sock between the skirt and inner fender.

Are you talking about fender flare clips or those black push button retainers for the inner wheel well liner?

Fastenal. You might have to order them. But, if it's a fastener they can get it.

There are so many types. I've heard these described as the Christmas tree push clips. I believe there are only 3 per side, but unsure. Here is an image found online of a similar one.

Also if someone has a photo what it looks like without the skirt, that would be appreciated.

sub'd cause that liner is crap. I had one liner pull past the clip, the clip didn't even break. Yet any other clip I try and remove, they just snap off

If the attachment point is out of sight, aluminum rivets might provide an easy and quick solution

Mine rattle like a SOB but everything is tight back there. My problem is that they are thin and flimsy. Most of the noise seems to be the forward inboard section of both sides. I am fabbing up a couple of brackets to stiffen them up with some 1/8” steel. There are a couple of 3/8” holes in frame already to use

**edit** will post pics of finished product tomorrow. I have to get a riv-nut mandrel to fit existing hole in frame. But anyone could use a 3/8 by 1” bolt in frame instead of rivnut

Rivnuts make life so much easier though.
